Blanket is a place where everybody really does know your name. It’s all good news, so you’re sure to find a familiar name or two.

Multiplication Facts

Students must know their multiplication facts starting in 3rd grade. Grades 3-8 need to know the facts to pass the state STAAR tests for their grade level. If a student does not know their multiplication facts, they are stuck at the second grade level of mathematics. Multiplication facts are in fractions, decimals, variable equations, percentages, division, and multi-step story problems. Old fashioned flashcards work, but the students know that there are many free games and songs on the internet to practice the multiplication facts. Please make it a priority to work with your child so they can be successful in math classes. Students will not be able to comprehend and execute multi-step problems without immediate recall of multiplication facts. Our best advice is to practice, practice, practice!
